We are looking for an accomplished HVAC service tech / installer. The primary function for the right candidate will be to repair, maintain, install, and start-up new and/or existing HVAC systems and components of various makes and models.The HVAC service / installation technician is responsible for accurately installing and repairing HVAC equipment in residential and/or commercial structures. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of HVAC equipment, codes, and proper troubleshooting and installation procedures.
What You Will Be Doing:
Replace any heating and air conditioning equipment or complete systems.
Install new duct systems in remodeled rooms or buildings.
Test electrical circuits and components for continuity, using electrical test equipment.
Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks, using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution.
Join pipes or tubing to the equipment and to the fuel, water, or refrigerant source in order to form a complete circuit.
Lay out and connect electrical wiring between the controls and equipment according to the wiring diagram, using an electrician's hand tools.
Obtain and maintain required certifications.
Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats, and timers, using hand tools.
Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area.
Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications and to detect and locate malfunctions.
What You Need To Be Considered:
3 years of HVAC repair and installation field experience.
EPA Certification.
Valid NJ driver's license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
Ability to read and understand schematics, specifications, and installation instructions.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, or stand, lift and move heavy objects.
Possess own basic hand tools.
Must pass criminal background check, drug test, and written comprehension and mechanical aptitude tests.
Additional Skills Preferred:
NATE cerfication
Successful completion of a certified HVAC repair and/or installation training program and apprenticeship
Trade or technical school certification
Previous experience with HVAC troubleshooting and/or maintenance
Ability to fabricate ductwork
Ability to work with computers and software
