Income Tax Manager is primarily responsible for managing 1) the preparation of SEA federal/state/local income tax filings (including estimated tax payments) for SEA and some of its wholly owned subsidiaries 2) the preparation of the quarterly income tax provisions for SEA and some of its wholly-owned subsidiaries 3) the roles and responsibilities of the income tax staff. In addition, the income tax manager should take a proactive role in evaluating and improving existing processes. Role and Responsibilities Manage 2 staff members responsible for preparation income tax filings, estimated payments and income tax provisions. Manage, maintain and improve tax account reconciliation and payable rollforward. Ensure compliance federal, state and local tax laws & regulations. Ensure internal processes are maintained/updated to support accurate tax compliance and are done in the most time efficient way possible. Supervise staff and provide timely feedback to aid in their professional development. Ensure that work is assigned equitably to the staff in accordance with his/her level of experience. Work with internal and external parties on tax issues associated with certain acquisitions/dispositions Identify tax planning opportunities Communicate with both external auditors, US Subsidiaries and acquired Companies (also known as Affiliates) to assure that all parties are made aware of their responsibilities.   Engage in M&A due diligence, when necessary; depends on target company Provide overall tax support and guidance to acquired Companies as needed.  Skills and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting/finance/Business; Masters in Tax and/or CPA a plus. 5-7 years of experience in the area of federal/state/local income tax compliance/provision/tax accounting at a large corporation. Some knowledge of Subpart F/International taxation a plus Strong  technical and research skills Managerial experience Knowledge of ASC 740 Experience with SAP     Strong Microsoft Office & OneSource skills Good communication skills, as it is necessary to communicate often with Samsung employees throughout the U.S. and Korea High level of analytical skills Ability to identify and correct deficiencies in processes either by reassigning responsibilities or through technology solutions. Must be able to work independently with decision making skills Excellent organizational and time management skills. R8389

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
